Osteopathy
Osteopathy involves preventing, diagnosing, and manually treating mobility dysfunctions of the tissues of the human body that cause joint and muscle pain.

Our approach to osteopathic manual therapy strives to consider each patient as a whole.
Since all parts of the body are connected by the musculoskeletal system, it is therefore important to treat all functional disruptions to restore the patient's overall health and relieve their pain.
For example, foot problems can cause limping, create a biomechanical imbalance, and lead to lower back pain or back pain. Similarly, issues such as headaches and migraines can cause tension in the neck muscles and create neck pain. Foot pain and its consequences can therefore affect your overall posture and may require an osteopathy session.
Many compensations can arise and cause functional disorders elsewhere than the initial painful area. Ankle pathologies can also create joint imbalances requiring care from a qualified osteopath.
The therapeutic approach in manual medicine is not the application of pre-established protocols. In fact, a good osteopath practitioner carries out a full assessment of each patient to determine the manual treatment best suited to their pathology.
- European Society of Foot and Ankle Surgery (EFAS)

Within the Clinique du Pied, we work with two certified osteopaths; our working method is based on gentle rebalancing of skeletal and musculoskeletal structures, without force. Therefore, our manual techniques are adaptable to all patients (even those who are fragile, such as infants or pregnant women).
We work on releasing tissues to enable the liberation of the body's mechanical and functional dysfunctions, thus helping to restore better health through osteopathic care.
Thanks to our dual degree in physiotherapy, we also advise you on self-rehabilitation exercises that will sustain the osteopathic treatment started together and make you an active participant in your well-being and your recovery.
Osteopathy in our multidisciplinary approach
Our multidisciplinary team includes specialists in podiatry and orthopedic rehabilitation who work in synergy with our osteopaths and physiotherapists. This collaboration between practitioners allows for comprehensive and personalized care of your musculoskeletal disorders and orthopedicconditions.
The osteopathic manual approach is effective in managing post-operative pain and helps to reduce post-operative swelling by improving lymphatic and venous circulation through manual therapies.
Complementarity with self-rehabilitation
In addition to osteopathy sessions, we recommend foot rehabilitation exercises adapted to your condition. These exercises, taught by our osteopath and physio practitioners, allow you to maintain the benefits of osteopathic treatment between sessions and to relieve pain.
This active approach to your health promotes faster and longer-lasting recovery, which is particularly important after surgery, a trauma, or in cases of chronic conditions requiring adapted therapy.
Main indications for osteopathy in orthopedics
Osteopathy and its manual techniques are particularly indicated for:
- Chronic back pain (lumbago, dorsalgia) related to postural compensations of the spine
- Muscular and articular tension after trauma (sprain, stiff neck)
- Support following orthopedic surgery and physiotherapy
- Gait and balance disorders affecting the locomotor system
- Tension headaches, migraines and neck pain of vertebral origin
- Prevention of recurrent pain and neuro-musculoskeletaldysfunctions
Our gentle osteopathic approach allows us to tailor manual treatment to each patient, including elderly people, pregnant women, or those with particular vulnerabilities who require a specialized osteopath.
